History

The Amsterdamse Carrière Dagen (ACD) were first organized in 1995. The organization was in hands of student association Sefa (UvA) and its objective was to get as many Amsterdam students as possible to get in touch with the labour market.

In 2002 participant companies pressured Sefa to get in touch with more students and they desired to include the students of the VU University Amsterdam (VU) into the event to get an even broader audience. For that reason the economic student association of the VU, Aureus, became involved with the organization of the ACD. As a result of this decision more leading and well-known companies decided to join the ACD which resulted in an increase of student participants.

In recent years the ACD has increased significantly and we are proud to say that we are one of the biggest career events in the Randstad now. With a record of over 1,100 student participants and more than 80 participating companies last year, 2009, we have once again proven to be growing larger and larger.

Now, in 2010, the ACD strives for the best quality for students as well as for participating companies. With the celebration of her third lustrum, the ACD will offer some new program items to obtain new growth, more opportunities and optimal satisfaction for both students and companies.
